Volcano earthquake updated to 5.2

Volcano, Hawaii – The earthquake that rattled Hawai’i Island residents last night has been upgraded by The U.S. Geological Survey to a 5.2. The 10:10pm quake with an epicenter 13km (approximately 8 miles) southeast of Volcano and 8.6km deep (5 miles) was originally reported to be a 4.8 magnitude quake and later adjusted to 5.0 and then a 5.2.

Reports to KWXX on the phone and through social media indicated that the quake was felt in every district on Hawai’i Island and number of people reported feeling it on Maui, Molokai and Oahu.

There have been no reports of significant damage due to the quake.
