Lahaina Noon phenomenon happens Friday

F20C02F3-DE8D-41D5-8ACC-C460AEF3D6D9Lahaina Noon is when the sun reaches it’s zentih and makes showdoes virtually disappear for verticle objects set at a 90 degree angle. Thanks for the Imiloa Astronomy Center for pointing this out. It happens Friday at 12:26pm.

Hawai‘i is the only state in the nation with this phenomenon, because it only happens in the tropics (between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn). It occurs twice a year at every location in the islands.

For more information about this amazing occurrence go to the official IMILOA BLOG.
