(Ken Hupp - KPUA) More than 22 percent of the Big Island’s registered voters have already cast their ballots in the 2012 General Election.
The County Clerk’s Office says as of Wednesday, it has received 17, 305 absentee mail ballots, while 6,308 have voted at walk-in absentee sites in Hilo, Kona and Waimea.
Absentee/early walk-in voting will continue daily from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. until Saturday, November 3rd, 2012. A total of 104,323 residents are eligible to vote in the General Election.
