DC's Brainbuster

Join me at  6:20am every morning as we fire up the neurons with useless trivia that you just can't resist. We call this THE BRAINBUSTER. Or just BRAINBUSTER would be fine. You put a THE in front of it and people may start taking it seriously.

Enjoy! We'll post each day's answers here everyday!

VETERANS DAY BRAINBUSTER: What actor has attained the highest U.S. military rank for an entertainer?

ANSWER: Jimmy Stewart

Jimmy Stewart held the highest active military rank of any actor in history. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Forces, and he rose to the rank of colonel. After the war, he continued serving in the U.S. Air Force Reserve, ultimately becoming a brigadier general.

Two former actors outranked him: John Ford was an actor before becoming a director, and he became rear admiral in the U.S. Naval Reserve. President Ronald Reagan became the U.S. Commander-in-Chief, but he had made his last theatrical TV appearance in 1965.
