Kapolei man is Big Island’s 30th traffic fatality for 2012
(Ken Hupp - KPUA) A 76-year-old Kapolei man has died from injuries he sustained in a motorcycle crash in North Kohala on August 29th. Police say Calvin B.T. Hoo was heading north on Kohala Mountain Road around 12:30 p.m., when he ran off the right side of the road and lost control of his motorcycle at the 18-mile marker.
Hoo was taken to North Hawai`i Community Hospital and later Queen’s Medical Center on O`ahu, where he died shortly before 3:30 p.m. on Friday, September 14th.
He becomes the Big Island’s 30th traffic fatality of the year, compared to 15 at this time last year.
