Woman with walker dies after being hit by car

HILO, Hawaii (AP) — A 53-year-old woman who was using a walker died of injuries after being hit by a car.

 

Hawaii News Now reports the woman was killed Saturday night on the Big Island as she stood with her walker on the shoulder of a road in front of a crosswalk in Hilo.

 

Fire Rescue crews transported the woman to the Hilo Medical Center where she died at 11:58 p.m.

 

Police say the car was driven by a 37-year-old man from Volcano who was not identified. He and his 3-year-old son were not injured.
