Police investigate apparent drowning



(KEN HUPP - KPUA) An autopsy has been ordered in the death of a Japanese visitor who apparently drowned while snorkeling Monday in Kailua-Kona.

Police say the man was pulled unconscious from the water fronting the resort at 75-5852 Ali`i Drive around 11:00 a.m. by resort 
employees and bystanders who attempted to revive him before Fire Rescue personnel arrived.

The 60-year-old victim was taken to Kona Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name is being withheld pending notification of his family.
