(Ken Hupp - KPUA) A broken water main left some 120 customers in Hilo without water service on Wednesday.

The pipe broke around 10:30 a.m. outside of Waiakea Intermediate School, and limited traffic on Puainako Street to one lane near the break.

Crews had to wait until school was dismissed for the day before they could shut off the water and begin repairs, which were expected to be completed last night.
