RED CROSS HURRICANE ISAAC RELIEF

Since Hurricane Isaac struck the Gulf Coast, thousands of families have evacuated and turned to the Red Cross for a safe, dry place to stay and something to eat. Hundreds of thousands are without electricity and with Isaac moving at a snail’s pace, the storm will continue to cause storm surge flooding, heavy rainfall, strong winds and possible isolated tornadoes. Over 5,000 people stayed in 80 shelters and even after the hurricane passes, the Red Cross will be there for weeks, helping disaster victims recover.
This is a very large relief response that will last a long time and is estimated to cost millions. The Red Cross will be there for weeks helping people recover. People can click or text to donate by visiting www.redcross.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or texting REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
