2 women die in Hilo shooting

HILO, Hawaii (AP) — Two women have been killed in a shooting at a home on the Big Island. 

 

The Hawaii Police Department says the shooting in Hilo was reported about 11:20 p.m. Monday. 

 

Police say both women were taken to Hilo Medical Center where they were pronounced dead. 

 

A suspect has been taken into custody. He has been identified as 34-year-old Sean Ivan Masa Matsumoto. 

 

Police say two children in the home at the time were not injured. They have been placed in the care of family members.
