Hawaii postpones open enrollment for Medicaid

HONOLULU (AP) — Hawaii is postponing open enrollment for roughly 250,000 members of the state's Medicaid health insurance program, Quest, amid a contract dispute between a health center and the Hawaii Medical Service Association.

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported Monday that Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center is disputing a new payment contract for giving services to about 7,500 Quest members who have insurance from the Hawaii Medical Service Association.

Human Services spokeswoman Kayla Rosenfeld says the open enrollment period has been changed to June 17-28.
