Hawaiian top on-time performer in March

(KPUA - Ken Hupp) Hawaiian Airlines maintained its reputation as a perennial on-time performance leader by topping the other U.S. carriers in March with 91-percent of its flights arriving on schedule, compared to the national average of 79.8 percent.

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s monthly Air Travel Consumer Report showed Hawaiian also had the fewest flight cancellations with six out of 6,000 for a cancellation rate of 0.1 percent. The airline was sixth out of 16 carriers for fewest mishandled baggage reports with 1,832 or 2.3 per 1,000 passengers and third in the quarterly denied boarding category with 51 passengers or 0.21 out of 10,000 passengers involuntarily denied boarding.
