New date set for GMO Bill

(KPUA) A County Council Committee meeting to consider a bill that would prohibit GMO or genetically modified crops will now be held on Tuesday, August 6 at 1:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers in Hilo. The meeting of the Committee on Public Safety and Mass Transit was originally scheduled for this past Tuesday at the West Hawai`i Civic Center, but was rescheduled due to the threat posed by Tropical Storm Flossie. The meeting will be a continuation of discussions that were recessed on July 3rd, so no public testimony will be taken.
