Same-sex couples set to legally marry in Hawaii

HONOLULU (AP) — Some same-sex couples are preparing to get married in Hawaii as soon as they're legally able to do so. Six couples are getting married at the Sheraton Waikiki after 12:01 a.m. Monday, when a new law allows gay couples to marry in the state. Hawaii's Health Department will allow same-sex couples to begin applying for marriage licenses online at midnight. Department spokeswoman Janice Okubo says the application site will add options to identify as bride and groom, groom and groom or spouse and spouse.
