East Hawai`i parks get new equipment



(KPUA) The County Department of Parks and Recreation is installing new childrens playground equipment at two East Hawai`i parks. Construction begins today at Waiakea-Uka Park located at 1200 Ainaola Drive, then shifts to Gilbert Carvalho Park at 850 Waianuenue Avenue on Thursday, February 20. 

Both parks will remain open for public use during the construction phase, although the parks existing playgrounds will be removed and work areas will be fenced in. Park users are advised to be aware of construction activities and equipment on site at both locations.
