Woman charged in weekend shooting



(KPUA) Police have charged a 22-year old Captain Cook woman with several offenses stemming from the Friday morning shooting of a Holualoa man. 

Randi-Keli K. Banagan was arrested on Saturday for allegedly shooting the 26-year old victim in the chest from a vehicle while he and his girlfriend were walking down Waiono Meadows Road in Holualoa. 

Detectives on Monday evening charged Banagan with attempted murder in the second degree, assault in the second degree, terroristic threatening in the first degree, reckless endangering in the second degree, use of a firearm in the commission of a separate felony, three counts of place to keep loaded firearm, three counts of loaded firearm on a public highway, place to keep ammunition, two counts of illegal transfer possession of firearms, two counts of permit to acquire firearm, two counts of ownership possession firearm prohibited, promoting a dangerous drug in the third degree, and drug paraphernalia. 

She was being held at the Kona police cellblock on $498,000 bail.
