Stun gun devices found at Farmers Market

A criminal investigation is underway after police recovered two electronic stun gun devices from a vendor Sunday at the Makuu Farmers Market.

Police say the recovered devices had the appearance of a cellular phone, while other devices previously displayed had the appearance of a Maglight type flashlight. The possession, sale, gift or delivery of electric guns/devices is a misdemeanor offense under Hawai`i Revised Statutes, while their use by anyone outside of law enforcement is considered an assault.
