The National Weather Service has upgraded Tropical Depression 4E to Tropical Storm Ela as of 5:00am this morning.
Tropical Storm Ela was approximately 585 miles east of Hilo and moving northwest at 13 miles per hour. Maximum sustained winds at 40 miles per hour with higher gusts. Currently no watches or warnings are in effect. A high surf advisory has been issued for the east facing shores starting tomorrow Friday July 10 and extending through Sunday July 12th.
