Kaiser Permanente announces changes

Kaiser Permanente has announced temporary changes to its usual medical policies, because of the state’s current COVID-19 emergency.  Effective immediately, Kaiser will:

-Expand telehealth and virtual care, to increase the number of patients that can be treated.

-Postpone non-urgent surgeries and procedures starting Monday, Mar. 23.  Patients with scheduled procedures will get calls to confirm.

-Temporarily consolidating medical offices and clinics, mostly on O’ahu.  On Hawaii Island, both the Kona Medical Office and the Hilo Clinic and their pharmacies will remain open.  Other Kaiser facilities throughout the state that will remain open include Ala Moana Behavioral Health, Honolulu Medical Office, Hilo Clinic, Kona Medical Office, Koolau Medical Office, Lahaina Clinic, Lihue Clinic, Mapunapuna Medical Office, Moanalua Medical Center, Maui Lani Medical Office, Wailuku Clinic, and Waipio Medical Office.

Medical technicians are performing temperature and health checks for any members going to their clinics, medical offices, or pharmacies.
