Hawaiian Electric warns of scams

Hawaiian Electric says there has been a surge of scam phone calls or texts going around during this COVID-19 crisis.  People will get calls or texts telling them their electric service will be discontinued if they do not pay money to the caller to ensure their service continues.

Hawaiian Electric warns consumers that they never text people about past due bills.  They have suspended disconnections through April 17, 2020, so customers facing financial hardships caused by COVID-19  have a chance to contact Hawaiian Electric and make payment arrangements.
