Anxiety? Try the Pandemic Crisis Hotline and website

The State of Hawaii has connected with a national Crisis Line, with counselors available to talk with anybody feeling stress and anxiety over the COVID-19 pandemic.   To reach them, call 1-800-753-6879 or text “Aloha” or “Home” to 741741

The Crisis Hotline also has information online about how to cope, for parents, students, with information on how to deal with stress over finances, isolation, and more.

For another immediate resource:   Dr. Katherine May is a psychologist and the Behavioral Health Director at West Hawaii Community Health Center.  Right now, most everybody is feeling some amount of anxiety and stress over COVID-19 issues–getting the disease, concern over family members’ health, losing a job,  financial concerns, concerns over 401Ks and retirement funds–among other things.

Dr. Katherine May talks about anxiety, a worldwide issue right now, in order to help us ponder how to manage it.
