Matson says ships coming just fine

Today at a State Senate briefing about the economic impact of the COVID-19 situation on Hawaii’s economy, Ku’u Park, Vice President, government and community relations at Matson gave an update on the status of shipping to Hawaii.

Park said there is no slowdown in ships coming to Hawaii.  He did say most retailers are shipping in extra merchandise.  Accordingly, Matson will prioritize essential goods–food, home supplies, etc.–over anything considered less critical.  For example, those shipping vehicles are finding there will be a longer wait than usual.
