Hawaii County adds 2 cases — state adds 7, total 442

The State Department of Health noon update on COVID-19 says that Hawaii County has 2 new cases, for a total of 28, with the state adding 7 new cases since yesterday, for a total of 442 in the state.  There have been 6 deaths, one of which was revealed yesterday but not in yesterday’s count.  The man was an elderly Maui resident, and State Health Director Bruce Anderson said his COVID-19 was diagnosed after he died.

Of the total cases, 387 are Hawaii residents, 32 are non residents, and 23 are not categorized.  The State Department of Health says 238 of the cases are confirmed as travel related, 65 are community spread with no known travel, and for 139 cases, it could not be confirmed whether it was travel related or community spread.
