Famed Tenor Andrea Bocelli will live stream a concert–Music for Hope — on Easter Sunday, April 12, from the Duomo Cathedral in Milan, Italy. In Hawaii, the live stream will be at 7 a.m. (live in Milan at 1 p.m.) Bocelli will film the concert with no audience, as a message of love, healing and hope to Italy and the world. Bocelli is known for his soaring tenor.
Bocelli, visually impaired since birth and now blind, is an Italian opera singer, songwriter, and record producer. Since 1982, Bocelli has recorded 15 solo studio albums of both pop and classical music, three greatest hits albums, and nine complete operas, selling over 90 million records worldwide. He has had success as a crossover performer, bringing classical music to the top of international pop charts. He has been nominated for Grammys and has won a Golden Globe.
Italy has suffered some of the worst effects of COVID-19, with more than 143,000 cases and 18,729 deaths. Bocelli, in an interview, said this will not be a concert, but instead, a prayer.
