No visitors into Kona Monday, but 149 visitors into state

Hawaii State Department of Transportation says 149 visitors (i.e. those without Hawaii state ID or Hawaii Driver’s License) arrived in the state on Monday, April 27, 132 on O’ahu and 17 on Maui.  Neither Kona nor Lihu’e had any incoming flights.  There were also 160 residents, 53 intended residents–those who plan to make Hawaii their home, and 40 “in transit,” those people not leaving the airport as their final destination is elsewhere in the state.

These numbers reflect only flights from out of state, not the interisland flights.  The Hawaii National Guard is meeting and speaking with all passengers on both out-of-state and interisland flights.  The verification procedures for all passengers, to confirm who they are, what their contact number is, where they are staying, confirming their understanding of the mandatory 14-day quarantine, are detailed here.

Crew = flight crew members
Intended Resident = people who are moving to Hawaii such as military members and their families, and former residents who intend to live in Hawaii
Resident = people who have a Hawaii ID
Transit = people who are in transit to another location through Hawaii and aren’t leaving the airport
Visitor = people who do not have a Hawaii ID including essential health care workers, essential federal workers, former residents such as mainland college students coming to stay with family, military on temporary assignment, and leisure travelers
