This evening, it’s the Waimea Community Association’s town meeting–but via Facebook Live, rather than in person.   The Virtual Waimea Town Meeting will be ”live” on Facebook at 5:30 p.m. today.

The meeting will feature a panel of county and state officials to give updates on COVID-19 and its impacts on the community.

Questions may be emailed to: WaimeaCommunityAssociation@gmail.com. They also may be typed into the “live” Chat but it’s better to submit prior to the program.
Presenters include Hawai’i Lt. Gov. Josh Green, M.D., State Senator Lorraine Inouye, State Representative David Tarnas, Councilman Dr. Tim Richards, and Hawai’i Community College Chancellor Rachel Solemsaas.   Waimea Police Capain Sherry Bird and Keck Observatory’s Chief of Operations Rich Matsuda will also give brief updates.
Waimea Community Association President James Hustace will facilitate the Q  & A session after each panelist gives an update.
To log on to the program, go to www.Facebook.com/WaimeaCommunityAssociation and look for the link just before 5:30 p.m.
