Flights to Kona increase, 17 visitors arrive Sunday

Hawaii Tourism Authority says that on Sunday,  1,073 people arrived in Hawai‘i including 272 visitors and 400 returning residents. There was a total of 20 arriving flights. This table shows the number of people who arrived by air from out of state on Sunday. The data is collected from the Department of Transportation’s new Mandatory Travel Declaration Form.

The former category of “Intended Resident” has been renamed “Relocate to Hawaii.”

All arriving passengers must maintain the 14-day quarantine.  Hawaii County Police will enforce the quarantine if informed of people violating it.  State legislators and many members of the public have expressed concern over the continuing out-of-state arrivals, as that’s how COVID-19 arrived in the state.  The purpose of the quarantine is to keep anybody who may have a case of COVID-19 away from others.
