The State Department of Health says once again, Hawaii has no new cases of COVID-19. The statewide total remains at 643, and there have been no additional deaths beyond 17 for at least two weeks.
The State DOH says there are 591 people released from isolation, and it is monitoring 42 active cases. That includes 3 active cases on Hawaii County (81 cumulative), 25 on O’ahu (414 cumulative), 13 in Maui County (118 cumulative), and 1 on Kaua’i, although Kaua’i Mayor Derek Kawakami says there are no active cases on the island as one has left the island. There are 10 cases attributed to Hawaii on the mainland.
All 4 counties have now announced that businesses, churches, and hair salons may reopen, including Hawaii County. Mayor Harry Kim made the announcement just before 6 p.m. Saturday, and says those businesses may reopen June 1, subject to COVID-19 precautions
