Hawaii County Civil Defense has announced there will be a drive through testing today at the Queens’ Marketplace in Waikoloa, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Civil Defense says the testing will be by S&G Labs Hawaii.
According to its web site, S&G Labs Hawaii, LLC was founded by Lynn Welch, MD who has been practicing and treating patients on the Big Island since 2008. She has partnered with Dr. Alan Wu, a Clinical Chemist & Toxicologist. S&G Labs Hawaii is on Nani Kailua Drive in Kailua-Kona.
S&G Labs Hawaii is currently utilizing a real-time RNA PCR method validated under the provisions of an FDA Emergency Use Authorization. Its website says it’s also doing antibody testing.
The COVID-19 test being used, according to the S&G Labs Hawaii web site, is the Thermo Fisher TaqPath COVID-19 Combo Kit. Click here for the FDA EUA letter.
