The state has 5 new COVID-19 cases again today, with 4 cases on O’ahu and 1 on the Big Island. Since yesterday, the State report indicates one additional patient is requiring hospitalization. The two newest cases on the island are in the Puna District and at the South part of the Big Island in the Ka’u district.
See the map at the bottom which indicates the location of the new cases within the last 28 days. The island added one case on Sunday, June 14 and one today, bringing the island’s total to 83 cumulative with just the two active cases.
In good news, the state’s death count has not increased, and is still 17. The total number of cases in the state is 744. Of these, 639 have been released from isolation.
The Honolulu Star Advertiser is reporting that the Hale Nani Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, the state’s largest nursing home, now has 4 patients with COVID-19 and one staff member. Premier Medical Group, which has conducted extensive testing on the Big Island and throughout the state, is in the process of testing 250 patients at the facility and approximately 550 staff members.
