Baseball is coming back!

Major League Baseball has now set its schedule, and will official reopen in late July.

In a press release,  Commissioner of Baseball Robert D. Manfred, Jr.said the 2020 regular season will resume either July 23 or July 24.

The season was in doubt after Spring Training Camps were shut down as some players tested positive for COVID-19. On Monday, there was a unanimous vote of the 30 MLB clubs that the season could begin.  Numerous COVID-19 precautions are in place, including every-other-day testing for COVID-19, and monthly antibody testing.

The proposed schedule will largely feature divisional play, with the remaining portion of each Club’s games against their opposite league’s corresponding geographical division (i.e., East vs. East, Central vs. Central and West vs. West), in order to mitigate travel.  Most Major League Clubs are expected to conduct training at the ballparks in their primary home cities.
