Hilo Medical says: wear a mask, but do it right

Hilo Medical Center’s Infection Prevention Director Chad Shibuya and the team at Hilo Medical Center say wearing a mask is one of the most effective way for people to avoid spreading COVID-19.  The state has now reopened interisland travel without a 14-day quarantine, and on August 1, people from out of state will be able to fly into the state with no quarantine if they’ve had a negative COVID-19 test within the previous 72 hours.  But often people with COVID-19 will have no symptoms–and doctors say that’s especially true with younger people.

Shibuya and the HMC team created a flyer that explains visually how to properly and effectively wear a mask when near others and in public places.
