Hawaii adds 25 new cases, but none new on Big Island

The State Department of Health has confirmed 25 new cases of COVID-19 in the state, none new in Hawaii County, 4 new in Maui County, and 21 on O’ahu.  The state now has 1,418 cumulative cases of COVID-19, with 1,084 released from monitoring and isolation.

The state has had 24 deaths, but none new in today’s report.

In the first White House COVID-19 Task Force Briefing since late April, conducted solely by President Donald Trump with none of the other task force members speaking, he acknowledged COVID-19 will get worse in the country before it gets better.   He also said the country is committed to vaccine development, and to work with any country that develops a vaccine.

The President also said mask wearing and physical isolation are important.  He urged people to wash their hands as often as possible.
