State adds 45 new cases (but data missing); Big Island 0 new

Hawaii is reporting 45 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, a welcome relief after far higher counts during the past week.  The State’s total now is 2,242, with 922 people having active cases of COVID-19 which the State Department of Health is charged with monitoring.

However:  the State also said they’ve not received  updated data from Clinical Laboratories of Hawaii, one of the state’s two major diagnostic testing labs, most likely because of changes in reporting now required by the Federal Government.    State officials acknowledge the data from today and possibly Saturday is incomplete.

Maui has one new case, and O’ahu has 44. Hawaii Island has had no active infections and no new cases for several days.
