State adds 121 cases–Big Island adds 26

The State Department of Health reports there are 121 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state.  The total case count for the state is 12,410, with 1,976 active.  The State DOH is reporting 136 deaths.

Kaua’i again has no new cases.  Maui County has 1 new case and there is one new case out of state.

The Big Island has 26 new cases, although one case was recategorized from Honolulu to the Big Island as the State DOH reviewed its records.  The total number of cases on the Big Island is 730, with 102 active cases. According to Hilo Medical Center, as of Tuesday the state has lost 28 people to COVID-19, but the State DOH is only reporting 15.

As of Tuesday, there were 15 patients with COVID-19 at Hilo Medical Center, and 2 at Kona Community Hospital, per the facilities’ official spokespeople.  This morning, Hawaii County Civil Defense said there were 13 people in the hospital with COVID.
