Life Care Center of Hilo has confirmed one new death from COVID-19 today in a resident, bringing the total deaths at that facility from COVID-19 to 3.
Life Care also confirms 46 patients (out of 200) have been confirmed positive for COVID-19, and 11 staff members. The facility says there are currently 37 active resident cases at the facility, with four receiving proactive treatment at Hilo Medical Center. One resident is now receiving care at another facility, and one resident was discharged home straight from the hospital.
Life Care says 4 of the staff has fully recovered and there are 7 active cases among staff members. The staff members are not working, but are in isolation.

Life Care Center of Kona’s Executive Director, Meredith Eder, says as of Friday afternoon, there are no cases of COVID-19 there among the 75 residents/patients nor staff.
