State adds 77, island adds 8 COVID

The State Department of Health has confirmed 77 new cases, bringing the state’s total to 14,911 with approximately 3,014 active cases.

The state is reporting 215 deaths.

O’ahu has 60 new cases, there are 6 in Hawaii residents out of state, Maui County had one removed from its count, Kaua’i has 1 new case, and Lanai has 3 new cases.  Moloka’i has no new cases.  Lanai has 97 confirmed cases overall.

The Big Island has 8 new cases of COVID-19.  The island’s total is 1,246, with approximately 316 active cases.   Hawaii County Civil Defense says 8 people are hospitalized with COVID-19.

The State is reporting the island has 30 deaths from COVID, but it’s known there is a lag between the island’s hospitals or care facilities reporting deaths and the State DOH confirming.  Hawaii County Civil Defense today said there have been 40 deaths.  The deaths reported by facilities on the island number 48, as follows:
