US past 9M COVID, 230K deaths–COVID is relentless

The Johns Hopkins COVID Dashboard for Sunday, November 1, at 5:24 a.m.:

Worldwide cases:  46,196,087      Worldwide deaths:  1,197,194

U.S. cases: 9,130,482   U.S. deaths:  230,586

According to the Dashboard, the reported worldwide case report increased by 464,487  in the last 24 hours.  Deaths worldwide increased by 7,687.

According to the Johns Hopkins Dashboard, the United States has added 75,072 cases in the last 24 hours.    In the last day,  the number of reported deaths from  COVID-19 increased by 768.

The United States’ case numbers are the highest in the world.  Following are India, Brazil, Russia, France, and Spain.  Click on the attached map to enlarge it and see the counts in other countries.

Hawaii has 15,071 confirmed COVID-19 cases with approximately 3,076 active cases.

The state is reporting 219 deaths.  The Big Island has lost 48 people to COVID-19, according to Hilo Medical Center, Kona Community Hospital, Yukio Okutsu Veterans Home, and Life Care Center of Hilo, which have been regularly releasing the number of people in those facilities with COVID-19 and the deaths from the virus.

The Big Island has 1,274 people with COVID-19 in total, with approximately 334 active cases.  For the full state report from Saturday, click here.
