According to the Johns Hopkins Dashboard, the United States has added 172,146 cases in the last 24 hours.  This is the 12th day in a row the new cases have been greater than 100,000.   In the last day,  the number of reported deaths from  COVID-19 increased by 1,182.

Nationwide, the concern is hospital capacity as some of the people with COVID-19 get extremely sick.  Most Governors nationwide are mandating that people to wear masks.  In Hawaii, Gov. David Ige clarified his mask mandate on Monday.  House Speaker Scott Saiki had been urging Gov. Ige to issue a new, clearly-worded mask mandate so there was no confusion.  The new mandate says everybody 5 years age and older must wear a mask in public.  It also says that business owners shall refuse entry to anybody not wearing a mask.

The order also extends the moratorium on evictions for non-payment of rent until Dec. 31, 2020.
