DWS Now Accepting Entries For Its 3rd Annual Keiki Water Conservation Poster Contest

The County of Hawaiʻi Department of Water Supply is now accepting entries for its 3rd Annual Keiki Water Conservation Poster Contest.

This yearʻs poster theme is “Do Your Part, Be Water Water Smart,” which aims to highlight the importance of water conservation. The contest is open to all Big Island kindergarten to fifth grade students.

Submissions must be original artwork done on flat 11×17 inch paper. They can be done via any medium except for three-dimensional renderings, chalk, charcoal and oil-based crayon. No computer graphics or photographs will be accepted.

There is no charge to enter.

Submissions need to be accompanied by a completed entry form which can be obtained online at www.hawaiidws.org, by emailing dws@hawaiidws.org, or by calling DWS weekdays at 961-8050.

Entries should be mailed to or dropped off in designed bins at DWS’ offices in Hilo, Kona or Waimea.

The deadline to enter is Wednesday, March 31, 2021.

Prizes will be awarded to the two top entries, as chosen by judges, from each grade level. The Department of Water Supply may reproduce winners’ names and their entries, which will be announced at a future Water Board meeting.

Posters will not be returned by the DWS but may be picked up from DWS’ Hilo office after June 15, 2021.  Posters not picked up by July 30, 2021 will be discarded.
