Hawaiian Electric has announced a new feature on its mobile app that allows customers to retrieve timely outage information including alerts and real time maps.
The free app is available in Apple iTunes and Google Play stores and can be downloaded to a phone or tablet.
Customers can now view a map of Hawai‘i Island and zoom in for details on reported outages in specific areas. Users with the geo-location feature activated on their mobile device can also see information on outages near their location.
The app also allows customers to pay their electric bills remotely in addition to moving or stopping their service.
Residents who are unable to access the mobile app are able to view the outage map online by visiting hawaiianelectric.com/HawaiiOutageMap.
