Man Hospitalized After Honolulu Police Shooting

(AP) — Acting Honolulu Police Chief Rade Vanic says a man remains hospitalized after an officer shot him. Vanic says the man pointed a gun at officers. Plainclothes officers found the man late Tuesday because he was wanted on warrants. Vanic says plainclothes officers aren’t assigned to wear cameras. This is the third time this year police have shot someone. The first two happened in April and were fatal. Vanic says the man pointed a handgun at officers as he was getting out of a vehicle he was driving. An officer fired at the man multiple times. The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
