Hawaiʻi County Civil Defense issued the following advisory at 4:30pm.
Residents of Pu`u Kapu Hawaiian Homestead, be advised if you can see fire, you are requested to evacuate at this time.
Waikii Ranch residents, please review your evacuation plans and be prepared to evacuate in the event the fire jumps across Old Saddle Road.
For those evacuating, the County has opened an Evacuation Center at Waimea District Park in Waimea.
Due to heavy smoke, Hawaii Fire Department has closed Old Saddle Road until further notice between Hwy 190 and Daniel K. Inoyue Hwy.
