FBI Reports Over 100 Hate Crimes Recorded in Hawai’i Over the Last Five Years

(AP) — According to the FBI, there were more than 100 hate crimes in Hawai’i over the past five years. The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports that of the 120 hate crimes recorded by the FBI, 39 involved white victims. There were 34 against Black victim, 12 against Asian victims and three against Native Hawaiians and other Pacific Islanders. There were 18 of those crimes against gay males. Native Hawaiians were listed as responsible for 49 of those crimes, while 26 involved white offenders, 14 involved Asian offenders, five involved Black offenders and six were listed as having offenders with “multiple race.”
