UH Soccer Player Daelenn Tokunaga Named First Team Scholar All-American

UH Hilo soccer player Daelenn Tokunaga was named a First Team Scholar All-American by the United Soccer Coaches Association. She ended the fall semester with a 3.75 GPA and is working on completing her bachelor’s degree in Administration of Justice.

Tokunaga has been invited to attend the All-America Ceremony and Reception along with her fellow honorees this January in Kansas City, Missouri.  The ceremony will honor All-America players at the youth, high school and college levels with the purpose of celebrating the best amateur soccer players in the United States in 2021.

As a University of Hawai`i transfer, Tokunaga, led the Vulcans to their first conference title and their first appearance in the NCAA West Regional. She was named PacWest Player of the Year and D2CCA First Team All-West Region. She led the PacWest conference in goals and scoring, totaling 13 goals and four assists (30 points).  She also led the NCAA West Region in goals scored and goals scored per match (0.92).
