Coordination Center Opens on Hawaiʻi Island

The County of Hawaiʻi, Hawaiʻi Community Lending, and Neighborhood Place of Puna announce the opening of a Coordination Center on Hawaiʻi Island.  The Center is designed to help residents with free one-on-one coaching and connectivity to community-based and government-supported services. The Center’s objective is to ensure lack of knowledge about available resources doesn’t stand between residents and the help they need.

In a press release Hawaiʻi County Mayor Mitch Roth said, “We are committed to providing our community every opportunity possible to gain financial empowerment so that they can not only bounce back from the pandemic but thrive through it.  In addition, our residents deserve adequate resources to ensure that they can keep the roofs over their heads and food on their tables. That’s why we commend Hawaiʻi Community Lending, the Neighborhood Place of Puna, and our Office of Housing and Community Development for their teamwork and collaboration to ensure that access to these resources are easily accessible, equitable, and readily available for all.”

Office hours are Monday through Friday between 8 am and 4 pm. Residents can call or text (808) 501-1413 to connect to a resource navigator.  In addition, individuals can visit Neighborhood Place of Puna’s website at https://neighborhoodplaceofpuna.org/. Inquiries received outside of office hours will be responded to on the next business day.
