Kona Vehicle Registration and Licensing Office to Open on Select Saturdays

The County of Hawaiʻi Vehicle Registration and Licensing Office in Kona will be open on select Saturdays to help control frustration from the community due to the closed walk-in service during normal business hours.

Beginning on February 15, those with licenses that are currently expired (and still within the renewal period) or with licenses that will be expiring within the next 30 days will be able to make appointments online at the County Vehicle Registration and Licensing webpage. No appointments will be available for individuals with current licenses that will not expire within the next 30 days.

The goal of the added appointments is to reach drivers who are being adversely affected by the expired driver’s license issue and assist those whose license will be expiring in the next 30 days who cannot find an appointment before the expiration date.

Additional appointments will be made between 7:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. on the following days:

  • March 19
  • April 2
  • April 30
  • May 21

To schedule an appointment visit: https://vehicleregistrationlicensing.as.me/renewals and select Costumer Service Representative – 5 (Kona).
