HPD Seeking Identity of South Kohala Theft Suspect

Hawai‘i Island police are asking the public to help them identify a suspected male shoplifter who may be responsible for a South Kohala convenience store theft that took place over the weekend.

Patrol officers responded to an Opelo Road business after the owner reported that while watching video surveillance footage he observed a male reach over the counter and remove two containers of vape liquid from a display stand.
The suspect, who was wearing long tan pants, a brown long-sleeved hoodie, and grey shoes and is described as having a thin build and standing approximately 5ʻ6″ tall, proceeded to leave the store by foot headed in an unknown direction.

Police ask anyone who may know the identity of the suspect to call the police department’s non-emergency number at (808) 935-3311, or School Resource Officer Edward Lewis Jr. of South Kohala Patrol at (808) 887-3080 or email edward.lewis@hawaiicounty.gov.
