The Department of Transportation has announced a number of lane closures throughout Hawaiʻi Island during the week of October 3, 2022. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. Below is a detailed list of scheduled roadwork and maintenance:
MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11)
MOUNTAIN VIEW TO VOLCANO (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)
Shoulder closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between Oshiro Road and Alii Koa Street, on Saturday, Oct. 1, through Friday, Oct. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for surveying.
HONUAPO
Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 58 and 61, vicinity of Whittington Beach Park, on Monday, Oct. 3, through Friday, Oct. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for mowing and grass cutting.
KUAKINI HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11)

Single lane closure on Kuakini Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile marker 113.9 and 114, vicinity of Honalo Road, on Monday, Oct. 3, through Friday, Oct. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for the Kuakini Drainage Improvements.
HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19)

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 14 and 16, vicinity of Kolekole Beach Park and vicinity of Leopolino Road, on Saturday, Oct. 1, through Friday, Oct. 7, for landscaping and vegetation cutting.
HAKALAU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)
Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 14.2 and 14.3, vicinity of Kolekole Stream, on Saturday, Oct. 1, through Friday, Oct. 7, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., for bridge work.
HAKALAU (24/7 RESTRICTION)

OOKALA
Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 27 and 29, Jardine Road and Moonlight Road, on Monday, Oct. 1, through Friday, Oct. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for tree trimming, mulching, and shoulder work.
QUEEN KAAHUMANU HIGHWAY (ROUTE 19)

Single lane closure on Queen Kaahumanu Highway (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 67 and 69, vicinity of Kawaihae Road and Hapuna Beach Road, on Saturday, Oct. 1, through Friday, Oct. 7, for shoulder restoration and vegetation cutting.
