Military Trainings Scheduled for This Fall

Tropic Lightning Soldiers from across the 25th Infantry Division will participate in a large-scale training exercise called Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center (JPMRC) 23-01, on Hawaiʻi Island and Oʻahu from October 31 through November 9.
JPMRC 23-01 is a regional combat training center (CTC) rotation that builds combat readiness in America’s Pacific Division.
Training will include use of blank ammunition and explosive simulators during daytime and nighttime hours at Pōhakuloa Training Area.
There will be increased military traffic before the exercise starting from the Kawaihae Harbor along Queen Ka’ahumanu Highway, Waikoloa Road and Daniel K. Inouye Highway on October 7.  After the exercise, there will be increased military traffic along the same route starting on November 19 and ending December 4.
In addition to heavier traffic, residents can expect an increase in helicopter, fixed-wing aircraft and unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) flights. This increase in aircraft activity will begin on October 28th – Oct. 30th at Wheeler Army Airfield on Oahu and Bradshaw Army Airfield on Hawaiʻi Island.
